Research Fellow, ICRIER
My interests span a broad spectrum from clean energy employment and climate finance to international climate negotiations and crafting of low-carbon development strategies. I work at the intersection of research and policy advisory, where I connect the dots between data, evidence, and real-world decision-making. I am passionate about translating complex climate challenges into actionable, inclusive solutions that work on the ground.

Kartik Nair
Research Associate, ICRIER
Kartik Nair is a Research Associate in ICRIER, where he wrestles daily with critical mineral recycling and electric mobility challenges. He spends his days turning India’s CRM supply chain into a circular-economy success story. Off the clock, Kartik channels his inner Michael Phelps (minus the Olympic medals), powering through 25 m laps (and the occasional cramp), plotting each stroke like a policy paper, and sporting more swim goggles than spectacles. When he’s not mapping recycling units or fine-tuning his one-arm freestyle, you’ll find him hunting for the perfect masala chai or trying to convince friends that blueberry cheesecake is the best!!

Esha AGrawal
Research Assistant, ICRIER
Economist by training, climate detective by choice. With a Master’s in Economics, a toolbox of modelling tricks, and a stubborn curiosity, I untangle the economic impacts of climate change and craft insights that (hopefully) make policymakers say, “Ah, that makes sense.” I’m all about bridging academic rigour and real-world relevance — one spreadsheet at a time. When I’m not modelling emissions or decoding climate data, you’ll find me lost in literature, wondering how Austen might’ve handled global warming or, for that matter, capitalism. Always learning, occasionally sleep-deprived, and never far from a dataset or a cup of coffee.
